Indie Movie Releases Via iPhone App – Is This The Future?
Note to self: Find out how this effort has turned out so far.
Has anyone out there read about this, had any experience with iPhone apps on your project, yourself? Share, share!
The iPhone app world is one I’m not familiar with. That is to say, I – gasp! – don’t have an iPhone, nor a Blackberry, nor anything else that requires that I type with my thumbs to communicate with others. But, our target audience for Lost in Sunshine is women mid-20s to mid-30s, and that is a demographic that uses this technology a LOT. I do a lot of reading about emerging distribution trends, and multiple streams of revenue, and iPhone apps come up fairly often. I haven’t figured out, yet, how Lost in Sunshine might offer an app, or how it might benefit from one… But the article above does give me some more ideas.
And one last thing, speaking of techie wonders and moviemaking: Check out this link to a presentation made by Thomas Mai of Festival Darlings late last October. It’s about 90 minutes long, but he covers a lot of ground about the shifting sands of distribution in the face of digital technologies and social media. Cool stuff.
